Boston Pizza Restaurants
Boston Pizza International Inc. is one of the most successful
restaurant operations in North America. Boston Pizza International's mission statement
is: "To be a world class franchisor through selecting and training people to profitably
manage an outstanding foodservice business." Jim Treliving and George Melville, the
founders of Boston Pizza, have been in the business for 39 years, and continue to actively
participate in the day-to-day operations of the company.
Gus Agiortis opened the foundation for Boston Pizza in 1963 in
Edmonton, Alberta. The original restaurant was called Boston Pizza and Spaghetti House,
and grew from being just a pizza place to the Boston Pizza we all know and love now. There
are now over 170 Boston Pizza franchisees throughout Canada, 12 in the United States, and
one in Mexico.
Canalta and Boston Pizza Restaurants
Boston Pizza has become an important component of Canalta's business
recently. We currently operate two Boston Pizza establishments in Alberta; one in Rocky
Mountain House, and one in St. Paul.
Boston Pizza franchises will continue to be an important growth area
for Canalta in the future. With a great menu, warm and friendly atmosphere, and great people
